If you live 60 miles or more (one way) from the courthouse you are reporting to, you may be paid a subsistence fee if you choose to stay overnight the night before your service. You will be reimbursed a flat per diem rate to cover your lodging, tips to maid, meals and incidental expenses. This rate is variable; please refer to your Jury Service Information for the most current amount. Please be sure to let the hotel staff know that you are coming in for jury duty; many of them have rooms available at a reduced government rate.
