Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) is an electronic public access service that allows users to obtain case and docket information from federal appellate, district and bankruptcy courts, and the PACER Case Locator via the internet.
PACER allows users to obtain case and docket information from federal Appellate, District and Bankruptcy courts, and from the U.S. Party/Case Index. It offers an inexpensive, fast and comprehensive case information system to any individual with a personal computer (PC) and Internet access. To register, users will need to visit the PACER Service Center web site - www.pacer.gov - and click on the Register tab.
In addition to obtaining case and docketing information, ECF access is attained through PACER. You will need an individual PACER account to file in the District of Minnesota. Your PACER username and password will serve as your ECF login and password for new attorneys. Existing attorneys (those attorneys who were previously admitted in the District of Minnesota) will link their ECF accounts to their PACER accounts for filing access. Please see the NextGen Information page for more information.
